SunSmart Aluminum DSLR Camera Rig Cage for Canon 5D Mark II - Professional Video Stabilizer for Filmmaking & Vlogging Accessories

This is a great cage. Solid build quality. I wanted to truly love it but there are a couple of inconveniences. First to mount the camera you need to you a flat head screwdriver. If you mount the 15mm rod bracket, you have to be sure the screwdriver is thin enough to go through the 3/8" mount hole underneath. I didn't have one so i had to find one that would fit.The battery compartment door does not open all the way because the rod clamp is directly beneath the door and no matter how much i tried to shimmy the camera on the mount plate, it still doesn't clear. On the other end, the CF card door cannot open all the way and therefore I needed to loosen the mount screw and turn my camera to change the CF card.All in all, this is a tough cage and I am happy with it so I can live with the inconveniences for now. Once I take through my first job, I will see how it goes and perhaps re-review.I like this cage but the battery hole is not big enough to open my cannon 70D to replace batteries. I think this was designed for a Canon 7D. To replace the battery I have to take the camera off the assembly to do it. Other than that the cage is well made.The Morros DSLR Cage set is a powerful tool in the arsenal of the videographer. Its cage is designed to be very sturdy and provide little to no shake when filming. I purchased the devise and was hesitant to leave a review until I had time to film with it. I must say that after a few shoots I am thoroughly impressed and will be using it on all of my handheld filming projects. I gave it a four out of five stars because some of the plastic parts felt flimsy, but I would still recommend the device to my friends. I will also say if a shoulder mount is available buy it along with the device for smoother tracking shots.One annoying flaw, the holes along the edges are too close. Even with a small head screw many are unusable from the underside. Such as mountains a small ballhead. Otherwise I really like this unit. Good sturdy construction give total confidenceI paid for next day shipping. It was a day late which isant really a real big deal. I gave it 3 stars because the part where you screw the camera on is very inconvenient and kind of difficult. You will need a thin flat head screw driver to do so. I will be getting a thin quick release for this cage. The blue grip that goes on the top handle was pretty easy to slip off. So I used hair spray to make it stick. The blue wing nut thing on the bottom had to be removed because it got in the way of the battery door on my dslr but the mount remained sturdy on my shoulder rig so I'm not stressing that to much. Other then that the cage is nice and im glad I bought it. I would say its worth the price.Good starting matte box cage if your into that sort of thing. I purchased this only to use on occasion.Plastic. Focus wheel is flimsy and won’t stay in place. Also, says package was delivered directly to a resident and it wasn’t. Was left out in the street.Good product for the price. Well built and lots of options to add other stuff.
